Dylan Copenhaver spent years in project management watching how construction work actually gets done, what it looks like when it’s executed with discipline, and what gets cut when no one’s holding the line. When he decided to build something of his own in Blaine, he brought that standard with him. Prodigy Painting was founded with a clear goal: give the Twin Cities a painting company that treats quality as the baseline, not the selling point.
Eleven years later, that founding conviction still shapes everything. Every project runs through the same prep-first process, every estimate is honest about what the job actually requires, and every crew leaves a finished space you’re proud to live in. A Process Built Around the Finish, Not the Clock

Step One
Walkthrough and Written Estimate
We start by walking the project with you. You get a written estimate that spells out exactly what's included: the prep scope, the products we're using, the number of coats, and the full timeline. No vague line items, no surprises once we start. -
Step Two
Surface Preparation
This is where most of the work happens, and where most painters cut corners. We clean, scrape, sand, fill, caulk, and prime every surface before a drop of finish paint goes on. It's what separates a finish that holds for a decade from one that starts peeling in two years. -
Step Three
Premium Product Application
We apply finish coats using premium paint specified by name in your estimate. Two coats, the right sheen for each surface, and enough dry time between them for the finish to actually cure correctly. You'll see the difference the first time light hits the wall. -
Step Four
Clean Site, Every Day
We treat your home the way you'd expect a premium crew to. Drop cloths stay down, furniture stays protected, and every day ends with a clean, organized site. Your space is always returned to you in better condition than we found it. -
Step Five
Final Walkthrough
Before we leave, we walk the finished project with you. If anything needs attention, we handle it on the spot. You also get any leftover paint labeled by room so touch-ups are easy down the road.

They arrived with rolls of heavy paper and plastic sheeting. Paper was taped down everywhere and they covered the furniture with plastic sheets to protect everything.
